Another List Of Links
I'm not going to add another list of links to the numerous lists
that already exist. I have links to a few of them (below),
and that should be sufficient. So the list here will only be of sites with
which I've had direct, personal experience, places I can
wholeheartedly recommend. Maybe later they'll be other things on this page.
Fine Hand Tools
-
Museum of Woodworking Tools
If you ever get the chance to visit Joel at his store on 20th Street, don't
miss it. This is a unique, and uniquely New York, experience. There's
definitely no other place like it in the city, that's for sure. I doubt there's
many places like it anywhere. But even if you can't go there, visit on the web.
You can't go wrong.
-
Japanese Tools
Definitely another place to visit if you're ever in the neighborhood of
Pepperell, MA. Ask Harrelson about the Bath House and talk about
building something for the ages. And prepare to be overwhelmed by his inventory
of wonderful tools. But, again, if you can't visit, stop by his site. Look
around. You won't be disappointed.
-
Misugi Designs
I've never visited (it's in California) but I know this. Whenever I've bought
something from Kayoko, proprietor of Misugi Designs, it's come wrapped in a
colorful print kitchen towel. A really sweet idea. And the tools are beautiful,
too.
Lumber
General Store
-
Woodcraft
They've been around a long time. Always dependable. And their catalog is still
the most comprehensive.
-
Lee Valley
Extensive catalog of innovative woodworking tools. Somebody out there is
thinking.
