Earl

 

 

Some people would call Earl "sturdy." Others might go for "stout." Most, I'm afraid, would use "squat" as a description.

 

 

 

 

 

Jessie calls him Gigantor.

 

 

 

 

 

But he's graceful, in his own way, as all cats are. Low, attached to the ground, grounded.

 

 

 

 

 

And of all the cats we've had - and we've had a few - he's the only one that looks at you and sees what's he's looking at.

 

 

 

 

This is a jewelry box, made of wenge and spalted beech. The inside lid has what looks like a beach scene. Serendipity.
